The AT-1 Blaster Pistol was the most common weapon in the Black Star Confederacy. It was popular with urban police forces and the Confederate Army. Ownership of these weapons was restricted. The power pack, providing enough energy for 50 shots, was housed inside the handle.
It began to be replaced by the AT-2 blaster pistol in late 14 ABY, but large numbers were still in service in 18 ABY.
It was updated in 17 ABY after the discovery of sig gas in the Pyran System, increasing its lethality immensely. This version was called the AT-1 Mark VII, and quickly replaced the old Mark VI.
