"Our way of life is already dying! We will not go quietly! If we must die, then we will battle to the last and make Rolan remember us by our actions!"
— Bren Nezar

For over a century, the Brothers of Blood oversaw all aspects of life on Rolan and were responsible for the creation of the Rolani race. They fostered the militant culture of life on Rolan and promoted the idea that strength of arms was the only true path towards creating a stable government. Even though the organization was eliminated following the rise of the Laro Order, signs of their influence can still be seen everywhere on Rolan.

Formed from the first colonists to the Laro System, the Brothers of Blood, under the leadership of a former Galactic Republic soldier named Tey Heldran, led an exodus of like-minded people from Laro Prime to the much less hospitable world of Rolan due to ideological differences. The harsh environment of the planet was the perfect crucible to cultivate the qualities that the Brothers of Blood considered ideal. This was taken a step further with a long-term program that would culminate in the Rolani as they are known today.

Despite their differences, the Brothers of Blood lived in peace with their neighbors due to the fact that neither Laro Prime, or later, Oris, attempted to interfere with them. This changed after the Empire took over the system and would eventually lead up the Laro Civil War. It is claimed that Rolan fired the first shot that touched off the war.

Their leader, Bren Nezer, was initially supportive of Jesika Doljian’s attempts to reunify the system following years of a war stuck in a stalemate, but after it became clear that the newly formed Laro Order would abolish some of the practices in use by the Brothers of Blood, the organization revolted.

Their revolution was ultimately short-lived.

The Brothers of Blood made their first and last stand at Kesaz, a heavily fortified military installation where they held hostages to be released once the Laro Order gave in to their demands. The Brothers of Blood made it clear that they were prepared to fight to the last man against the Laro Order.

Nezar was instead tricked into the open to talk, where he was unknowingly infected with a deadly variant of the virus known as the Arkanian Flu by the assassin, Nashka. Nezar returned to the other Brothers and unwittingly infected the other members. After twenty-four hours, the virus did its work and spelled the end of the organization.
