The Equinox was one of two Nova-class Modular Cruisers delivered to Draconis Incorporated as part of their contract with the Tenabrium Shipyard Array. The ship is configured to serve as a mobile prospecting and command headquarter for large-scale contracts such as the mining operations of the Laro Order. Though armed, it's combat capabilities are far below starships of similar size, such as the Strike-class Medium Cruiser. It does sport several advanced scientific installations however, which allow the analysis of material samples without complicated logistics. As well, it has enough room to carry a basic selection of mining equipment in order to analyse even greater depths of a potential mining site. All this is aided by the Equinox' ability for atmospheric flight, and of course, landing.
It is commanded by Captain Nathal Gorion.
