Description

The planet of Garagos was the first colony of the Confederacy. It was the home world of the Garagosians, and was renowned for the fine furs that came from there.

Garagos housed 20.330.000, almost all of them Garagosians. They lived mostly as hunter-gatherers, but had become more civilized since their discovery. Unlike most others, the Confederacy had taken the Garagosians in as equals, and the Planetary Governor of Garagos was a Garagosian.

The planet had standard gravity, with average temperature lying around 20 degrees Celsius. A Garagosian day lasted about 24 standard hours, while a Garagosian year lasted about 360 standard days.

The Planetary Governor of Garagos was the Garagosian Alin-Dul, appointed to his position by Joran Thorn himself.

History

Garagos was the ancestral birthplace of the alien species known as the Garagosians, and was colonized by the Confederacy in 10 ABY.

Rather than attempting to conquer the Garagosians, the Confederacy convinced the Garagosians to join. Despite their love for the wild, the Garagosians never regretted the decision to join - they were ruled by a Garagosian, and their traditions lived on as they did before the colonization.

That said, many older Garagosians weren't too fond of the Confederacy. Many young Garagosians left the planet to work in the Armed Forces, which upset the older Garagosians who felt they should remain at home. Especially the female Garagosians were frowned up, as they 'should stay at home and bear children'. While the Confederacy abhorred such a logic, the fact that the females were allowed to leave their tribes anyway meant that the Confederacy stayed out of the affairs of the tribes, leaving such matters in the capable hands of Governor Alin-Dul.
