The Ghost Recon armor takes a standard suit of battle armor and strips it down, removing all the heavy weaponry and mmost of the armor, replacing it with an advanced sensor and ECM suite. The result is a suit that has provides excellent protection and mobility for forward recon infantry units. Powerful actuators and servos roughly double the wearer's lifting capablity. Speed is increased around 30%, and despite the weight, the advanced servos actually increase wearer agility. An advanced jet pack allows the user to jump up to 180 meters in one burst.

Weaponry is sparse. The suit features only a retractable MMA SC-1 Shoulder Cannon. Other weaponry must be hand-carried. The right forearm can be also replaced with a module containing any MMA weapon, such as the MMA Mauser 960, AIAW, Blazer Rifle, or Thunderstroke Gauss Rifle. The larger weapons necessitate removing the jet pack, however. Other models of weaponry may be mounted after modifying the weapon hardpoint and updating the suit's targeting software. The armor is rated as Class Three, which provides enough protection to absorb a point-blank blast from a fully-charged heavy blaster rifle with only minimal dermal damage to the user, if any.

As will all the suits, the Ghost armor includes a built-in medpack which automatically diagnoses a wound and administers drugs and treatment. Another feature is the 'syntharmor', a lighter version of the harjel used by MMA capital ships. Syntharmor is a black, tarry substance that is released to seal any armor breaches. This substance hardens upon contact with air and provides some minimal protection against further injury.
