The HGN-732 Highlander was designed to stand alone in the defense of a city or other strongpoint, or to provide support for a combined-arms attack. It perfoms both roles superbly. Although slow-moving, it possess the ability to jump over most obstacles, its powerful jump jets propelling the machine up to 90 meters in one bound. The weaponry is centered around the Gauss Rifle mounted in the right arm. A 20-tube LRM rack sits in the right torso. For shorter ranges, a pair of SRM-6 racks are mounted in the left arm, and three medium pulse lasers are housed in the left breast. One angers a Highlander and lives only rarely.
Armor consists a full meter of Class B ablative, allowing the walker to take a few dozen volleys from vehicle-class turbolasers or even several shots from a bombarding warship.
