The Intruder Medium Bomber was created to provide MMA squadrons an anti-capital ship craft while still being able to engage enemy fighters. The Intruder is similar in mission profile to the New Republic B-wing attack fighter. The bomber carries three laser cannon, one of which fires into the craft's rear arc, compensating for its low maneuverability. Two proton torpedo launchers and two concussion missile launchers are mounted, each with a magazine of four.
As common amongst MMA craft, equipment hardpoints dot the lower surface of the craft, enabling the fighter to carry additional weaponry or gear, from electronics packages to bombs to extra proton torpedoes or concussion missiles or even external thruster units to increase maneuvering or speed. Typically, though, mounting such external ordinance will lower the performance profile until launched or jettisoned.
