The A-4 Skyhawk fills a light-strike role in atmospheric combat. It has a high thrust-to-weight ratio, meaning it can carry a large amount of ordinance for its size. Two laser cannon are built into the wing roots, while one fuselage and four wing pylons allow for the carrying of armaments, being they missiles, bombs, or equipment packages.
Unlike many of its atmospheric counterparts, MMA focused on making the designs as aerodynamic as possible. Thus, not only is it fast, it is fuel-efficient and quite nimble in the air. Many an enemy pilot has been surprised by its narrow turning radius as it darts around the sky. This agility means that it can be used as a dogfighter in a pinch as well.
The fighter carries 25 cm of Class B Ablative armor, allowing the ship to sustain a decent amount of damage before hull breach. Basic shields are provided, although the low rating merely serves as a means for the craft to take a shot from an ambushing enemy fighter without damage, thus properly warning the unattentive pilot that perhaps he should consider evasive maneuvers.
