Medium Style
From Star Wars: Exodus Visual Encyclopedia
The Medium Style of lightsaber combat is a derivative form created after the Battle of Endor that shares similarities with Shii-Cho and Niman. It is unclear where it originated, but it seems to have become popular with many lightsaber duelists. Unlike the classic forms, the Medium Style and the other two derivatives, Fast and Strong, are considered simplified versions of the classic forms as they all are much less complex.

[edit] Style and Stance
An intermediate style between the Fast and Strong styles, the Medium Style is based on a perfect equilibrium between speed and power.
Users of the Medium Style typically utilize a neutral stance, the lightsaber being held in medium position in front of the user ready for both defensive and offensive maneuvers.
This style has some similarities to Shii-Cho and Niman, both combining elements of multiple combat forms, yet being simple and basic.
[edit] Advantages and Disadvantages
The Medium Style is a balanced and neutral type of lightsaber combat, using elements of the Fast and Strong styles, and thus allows for a variation of both offensive and defensive functions. However, much like Niman, it doesn't favor one over the other. It lacks noticeable weaknesses, but also trades off that advantage by not having any noticeable strengths in any area.
