Misery is a planet located in the Miser system and the Ogriand Sector. Originally found and claimed during the Muir-Eldari War, the system wasn't put to much use, except being used as a staging ground for the MC-01 Memnarch Fleet. However, during that time and after the war was won, cities were slowly carved into the permafrost. Only the hardiest of peoples would want to come live on an ice world, which explains the low population number.
For a time, the Muir Corporation's Weapons Development and Testing Center was on Misery, but it has since been relocated to Radion Labs' Calidna Base on the planet Calidna.
There is a large abundance of metals and earthly resources trapped under the ice and snow, and efforts have been made to locate major veins of materials. The natural resources of Misery are considered a fall back to, in the event of war or some other disaster.
The system, not the planet, is also home to the Feraldra, a space phenomena that has up until this time seemed benign. It has only recently begun to exhibit electronics disrupting behavior. Tej Muir asked Jedi Master Erik Muir and his padawan Isaac Bel'kaar to investigate the phenomenon, along with a contingent of SpecOps soldiers. What they found would change the history of the Muir forever.
