The Raptor Superiority Fighter was designed as a dogfighting craft, pure and simple. It is the most maneuverable fighter in the MMA arsenal, outmatched only by the Snitch, which was not designed for combat in any event. Designers pushed performance as far as they could, intending it to be a match for even the agile TIE Defender. Speed and protection is not exceptional, only slightly better than an X-wing, but the rapid turning ability of the fighter gives the Raptor a decided edge in close quarters. Pilots have complained about the lack of a built-in missile launcher. Though no plans yet exist to modify the design, some pilots have coerced techs to mount a concussion missile launcher under the fuselage with a magazine of three, though this reduces maneuverability to around 106 DPF.

As common amongst MMA craft, equipment hardpoints dot the lower surface of the craft, enabling the fighter to carry additional weaponry or gear, from electronics packages to bombs to extra proton torpedoes or concussion missiles or even external thruster units to increase maneuverability or speed. Typically, though, mounting such external ordinance will lower the performance profile until launched or jettisoned.
