Shield

The history of the Shield is an interesting one involving the Rebel Alliance, the Galactic Empire, Black Sun, and other criminal elements. It was involved in quite a few of Black Sun’s physical wars as well as wars involving the House of Muir. Indeed, it has fought against pirates and other criminal syndicates. Owned by Tej Sha'rn-Muir’s father, Khir’nar Sha’rn-Muir, the ship was the founding vessel of Khir’nar’s shipping company, which had strong ties with the House of Muir, then under the leadership of Nathan Muir’s father. The Shield underwent quite a few modifications in its service to the first Muir Corporation. Its reactor was upgraded in addition to its engines. Tej would later add in a shielding upgrade.

When Khir’nar died, Nathan, now the Duke of the House, used a loophole within the laws of the House to seize the assets of both the ship and the first Muir Corporation. Tej was furious, but kept his mouth shut, knowing that he didn’t have the power or leverage to try to force Nathan to give him the corporation and the Shield. Years later, Nathan needed Tej’s help in his retaliation strike against the House of Morgan. It was then, when Nathan needed him most, that Tej gave his one condition for coming away from his smuggling business: Nathan had to give Tej the Shield back.

Nathan had no choice, and after the retaliation fight with the House of Morgan, Tej took the ship to found the second incarnation of the Muir Corporation. It is Tej's personal ship and one of his most prized possessions. Work on it will forever continue as new Muir technology is added to it.
