The Spineripper-class Fighter design is one that was captured from the Eldari. The Spineripper was one of the best fighter designs in the Ogriand Sector, and was constantly being updated and made better by the Eldari technicians. The bane of Ogriand and the shipping lanes inside of the sector, the Spineripper is a powerful design. It was made use by the Muir Commonwealth after it was captured and reverse engineered, becoming a staple of the starfighter corps.
Work was completed on the Mark II version of the fighter and the Mark I was retired to use by the militias of the different Commonwealth systems and smaller fleets. Many of the Mark I's underwent upgrades to the Mark II, though considering the difference in designs, it was easier just to build new fighters.
In essence, the Spineripper-class fulfills the role of the T-65AC4 X-wing in the ranks of the Muir Corporation
