Vorzyd V, also known as the Gambler's World, is a planet in the Vorzyd system. Once a colony world of the people of Vorzyd IV, the Vorzydiaks that live there gave all their physical work over to labor droids, valuing leisure and games over hard work.

Around 39 BBY, the people of Vorzyd V began to build the casinos and amusement parks for which their world would later become famous, among the most notable of these were the Casino Royale and Jedi Masters. During this time, the citizens of Vorzyd IV accused the people of Vorzyd V of sabotaging their monitoring systems and factories. After investigation by the two Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, it was found to be caused by the Freelies, a youth movement native to Vorzyd IV.

During the New Order, the heavy taxation and strict gaming laws of the Galactic Empire began to weigh heavily upon the people of Vorzyd V. Due to this, the president of the Gambler's World became a Rebel Alliance sympathizer and set up a meeting with Luke Skywalker to begin negotiations for their defection to the Rebel Alliance. However, sometime after the Battle of Endor, the Vorzyd system was taken over by the Sith Empire. Remarkably, very little about life on Vorzyd V changed after the Sith gained control of it.

In 17 ABY the planet was purposefully plunged into chaos and anarchy by the Cult of Shadow, resulting in an estimated death toll of around 500,000,000. The planet had been infiltrated at every level by cult agents to set it up for the fall. The entire action was part of a masterminded plot by the Darksider Sivter, and carried out by Vok Ruvege, to force Kalja Sairu Leidias to give in to the Dark Side. Although it ultimately failed in its primary objective, the complete collapse of Vorzyd V became an example that the cult would use as a fear tactic during the War of Darkness that would follow.
