The Wolfpack-class Assault Frigate has a multi-purpose role in the MMA Navy. The ship can carry a number of Elemental infantry and Battlewalkers, making it useful as a heavily armed transport, or it can fight in space.
As the name shows, the Wolfpack is intended to fight in groups, typically at least three. Unlike its "sister" ships of the Warclub-class, most of the weaponry is mounted on the curving side sections of the ship, although the wide firing arcs made possible by such shapes mean that a considerable amount of weaponry can be focused forward as well. Standard tactics for ships not carrying troops are for them to use their above-average maneuvering capabilities to circle a ship, firing at it from all directions. If a weakness appears, the ships can turn inward and make slashing attacks at the exposed flank.
As with all MMA-produced combat vessels, the ship features the innovative harjel repair system, a set of backup shields rated at one-third the power of the ship's standard shields, and the new PDS in addition to the ship's standard weaponry and defenses.
